Samsung Galaxy Note 7 First Android Phone with 500GB of Potential Storage

Excited at the prospect of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7? You should be — the new Note phone could be first with 500GB of storage

Samsung is really looking at pushing the boat out with its soon-t0-be-released Galaxy Note 7 phablet. The phone has been the talk of the town for the past 12 months and, as the release date draws nearer, we’re now starting to get a very clear picture of what it will entail.
The rumoured specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 are beyond impressive; it will be the most powerful phone on the market bar none when it arrives. But it isn’t just raw specs where Samsung is looking to develop some USPs. Reports suggest it has made many refinements to its software for improved S-Pen utility.
Powered by either Samsung’s Exynos 8893 CPU or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821, the Galaxy Note 7 is also expected to feature 6GB of Samsung’s brand new, ultra-fast 10nm RAM which alone will place it well in front of current Android big boys like the Galaxy S7, HTC 10 and LG G5.
Samsung will also make improvements to the camera, connectivity, water and dust proofing and overall design and finish. But perhaps the most startling rumour of all is that Samsung may introduce a top storage model with a whopping 256GB of storage, which, combined with Samsung’s 256GB microSD card means the potential storage for the highest Galaxy Note 7 will be over 500GB.
But there is another 256GB option when it comes to microSD cards. SanDisk’s Extreme microSDXC UHS-1 card, which has just been called the fastest microSD card on the planet with its transfer speeds of 100MB/s and write speeds of 90MB/s.
The Extreme microSDXC UHS-1 card was unveiled at MWC Shanghai this week and will retail for around $150-$200, making it A LOT cheaper than the current only other 256GB option from Samsung which retails for $250. The Samsung card has the same transfer speeds but it is $100 dearer than SanDisk’s, so it doesn’t take a genius to figure out which one to go for.
No other phone on the planet can boast of having over half a TB of storage; hell, that’s more than most computers. This is another huge USP for the Galaxy Note 7 and it is one that serious, hardcore users will no doubt lap up with gusto.
The only problem with all this is that the MEGA version of the Galaxy Note 7 will likely costs WAY more than the 64GB version. How much more? Well, given the amount of storage we can see Samsung pushing for at least an £800 RRP for the that handset and that, ladies and gentlemen, is a very expensive price for a phone.
