Best 5 Android Apps For Your Phone & Tablet In 2017

Duolingo - Learn Languages for Free (free)

Duolingo is one of the most well-regarded language learning apps ever. It is completely free and actually works (It’s taught me some basic French in just a few weeks). The app allows you to learn Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, and English in a simple and intuitive manner. If you’re looking to learn a foreign language, give this app a try. You won’t regret it.

Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games (free)

The first Dumb Ways to Die was a massive sleeper hit and the second game is an extension of it that knows not to change a good thing. In Dumb Ways to Die 2 you guide your character through 28 new levels and try to keep him alive as long as possible. The levels this time, however, have an Olympic games theme (if the Olympics were really, really messed up). Jump over electric fence hurdles, ride a rodeo dolphin, do the lightning pole vault. As its name suggest, Dumb Ways to Die 2 isn’t an intelligent game, but it's a great way to pass time on your commute.

Mad Libs (free)

When I was growing up as a kid in the world before apps we needed to keep ourselves entertained the old fashion way: by using our brains and rudimentary tools known as pencils. One of my favorite pastimes was Mad Libs. These were books with short stories on each page. Yet each story had dozens of missing words you needed to fill in. A noun here, and adjective there. After you filled in the words (without reading the story first) you’d then read the whole thing back and the results were hilarious. Penguin Group, the publisher behind Mad Libs, has now updated the series for the 21st century in this smartphone app. Fill in words quickly using swipe gestures, replay stories as many times as you want, and earn stickers and badges along the way. It’s a great take on a 20th century classic.

CheapCharts (free)

CheapCharts is hands down my most favorite app I’ve found in months. The app allows you to quickly see price changes for all the media offered in the iTunes and Amazon stores - movies , tv shows, apps, books, and more. See the price history for each media and get alerted to when a particular media goes on sale. In the last week alone I’ve saved over £20 buying two movies that are normally $14.99, but CheapCharts alerted me when there prices both fell to $4.99 for one day only.

Runtasty (free)

Many people thought this was an April Fools Day joke when it was unveiled at the beginning of April, but it is really a cooking app from the makers of the popular fitness app Runtastic. The app offers over 40 dietitian-approved recipes for all diets and dietary restrictions including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, meat-eater, dairy-free, low-carb and more! Plus all recipes include the complete nutritional breakdown of the meal.
